What Jodie Wore

What Jodie Wore

So, after a long and busy week I finally got the chance last Friday night to let my hair down. Having not done so in quite a while I was off to a gig to watch my boyfriend's super talented reggae band Jeramiah Ferrari.

Being just a casual pub gig I decided not to get too dressed up... but just because it's a pub gig it doesn't mean I won't make an effort! Plus the weather has once again decided to brighten up so it was warm enough to flash a little bit of flesh! ...only a little bit though!

Pretty in Punk

Pretty in Punk

For a while now I've been making plans to start a new venture... Pretty in Punk. My own customised hand-dyed clothing range, available to buy.

As I've been stocking up on supplies and begun creating my one off pieces it was decided that Pretty in Punk clothing would take part in a collaboration with Manchester based reggae band Jeramiah Ferrari (http://jeramiahferrari.com/)

The idea is that I shall be customising individual Jeramiah Ferrari printed tee's so that the fans can have their own one-of-a-kind band memorabilia!

It's all still a work in progress but just for you lovely people, here's a sneak peak at the first ever Pretty in Punk and Jeramiah Ferrari collaboration...

Be sure to let me know what you think! ...and if anyone has any requests on colours etc. be sure to let me know and I shall start creating!

So, with another long day ahead  at The Fashion Network and some more miserable weather to face I decided that it was definitely a day for all black!

Plus having been a whole 12 weeks since the traumatising hair cut I can now get my hair in a ponytail... result!

So here's what I wore...

Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge - Winner Announced

Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge - Winner Announced

So, the beginning of this month (7th July) saw the Emerging Trends Fashion Challenge take place in Paris. Showcasing the works of designers from all parts of the World including Norway, Pakistan, Canada and the USA this truly was an event to remember, being judged by some of the fashion industry's top professionals including Barry Laden, Artem Balaev and Olivia Pinnock.

Beautiful models, stunning fashion and amazing styling made the show a night to remember along with the true buzz of tough competition and determination. The show was spilt into 3 simple segments; Past, Present & Future which allowed each designer to present their different cultures along with displaying their own take on fashion trends.

The event featured 5 designers; Rudy Wolff (Norway), Jamie Ochrey (USA), Kristi Vosbek (Canada), Christine Manthey (USA), and the Nayna Fashion House (Pakistan).

Thanks to the organisers; HYPE Fashions (France) and SYNERGY Events (New York) the show was a roaring success and had an amazing team hard at work behind the scenes including; stylists from London leading a team of British and French make-up & hair stylists, and a whole crew from around the world; a truly international team!

After an amazing show featuring some fabulous designs the judges had a (VERY!!!) tough job cut out for them... They had to pick a winner! They took their time in making this very difficult decision and in the end announced the runners up; Rudy Wolff and Kristii Vosbeck.....         and then announcing Christine Manthey the winner! Winning a trophy and $5,000 USD!

Getting Ready to ROME

Getting Ready to ROME

So, it's that time of year again... Holiday time!!
And this year I'm going to ROME ...I know, I know it's terribly exciting!

With only 49 days to go til I fly out I figured it's about time I start planning my holiday wardrobe, after all the Italians are known for impeccable style and I wouldn't want to let us Brits down.

Feeling inspired by this old family photograph taken of my other and I on holiday when I was a child I have decided that this year's holiday must-have is a wide brimmed hat!

Luckily for me my mother still owns this exact hat, so I'll more than likely be taking it along with me... but I've still got to keep my options open, yes? So here's my selection of my fav hats available to buy on the High Street at the moment. Who knows maybe you'll be taking one abroad too?

100 Years of Grattan

100 Years of Grattan

F0llowing on from my first modelling post I thought I'd continue with a little look at the latest job I did for Grattan catalogue. Having been around for 100 years this month the company decided to put on a celebratory 'Through the Ages' Catwalk featuring classic Grattan outfits from each decade right up to a futuristic look...

...I was to be featured in the 60's & future.

The clothes were put together by Bradford College Fashion students and were overseen by Grattan to ensure they were of the best quality, and I was very impressed with the pieces and particularly how well they were put together!

(excuse the slightly blurry photos ...they were taken in a rush in between changes)

What Jodie Wore

What Jodie Wore

I have now decided that along with keeping you lovely readers updated with the latest in Fashion and my world of Style, I'd also start to do the occasional post on my modelling world too...

So, to fit in with this new section I thought what better place to start than with a What Jodie Wore to my most recent Catwalk rehearsal. Dressing for castings/rehearsals is always a tricky one for me as I like to try and combine comfort & convenience whilst keeping my style & personality....

In this particular outfit I kept it simple with my favourite midi dress; showing enough of my figure whilst remaining comfortable and teaming it up with a pair of lace up suede boots (my added touch of style). It's important to get an equal balance of the two as clients like to A) see your face & shape clearly and B) get an idea of your personality...

Paris Couture Fashion Week 2013

Paris Couture Fashion Week 2013

So, as most of you may be aware this week is the much anticipated Haute Couture 2013 Fashion Week held in Paris, France. All the big players in the world of Fashion have been there showing us exactly what they're made of and I have personally been blown away!

Here I decided to show my favourite collection from each day right up to Wednesday...

...and it all kicked off on Sunday 1st July with Versace... boy did this collection set the bar high...

The collection featured a mixture of elegant evening gowns and super sexy mini dressed all in pastel hues. The mesh panels allowed just the right amount of skin on show along with the thigh high slits in the longer gowns and the printed fabrics were simply fabulous!

Day 2

Christian Dior was an altogether different affair... One of my favourite of the week it featured a little bit of everything I love in fashion... midi hem lines, peplum tops, slick tailoring, mesh panels, strapless dresses and the ever so retro choker necklace... all of this whilst remaining ever so sophisticated.

My all together favourite pieces were a selection of 3; the fairy-tale dress starting with a lilac floral detail in the skirt working its way up to bright white, the yellow mesh top, floor length evening gown & the red Grecian style maxi dress... all of them Breath-taking!

Day 3

Givenchy again completely changed things up with a 60's, Italian gypsy inspired collection. The colours remained neutral and understated and the cuts of the pieces for me had an almost futuristic oriental feel. Everything remained modest and floor length and it was an altogether quite earthy collection...

Day 4

Valentio again had a feel of the 60's however this time very different to Givenchy. Sweet mini dresses and sophisticated maxi's had a mixture of neon pop art colours and neutral tones, and the embroidery was simply stunning! The hints of lace and animal print added another dimension to the collection and the tailored suits made it so that there really was something for everyone...
