#1 Be bold in Black and White

#1 Be bold in Black and White

You may have noticed already that a big competitor in the trends for Spring/Summer 2013 is going to be the Monochrome trend...

...with more and more black & white pieces slowly cropping up in the best high street stores it's apparent that this trend is most definitely going to be a favourite this year.

On the catwalks in late 2012 is where this trend first appeared with designers such as Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and Celine showcasing this heavily contrasted look to it's best...

Balenciaga

Marc Jacobs

Celine

The beauty of this trend is that it's so broad anybody can easily buy into it...

You could follow Celine and buy separates in block colours; either black or white, they could then easily be mixed and matched to create the ultimate monochrome outfit.

Another way to stay well on trend (and my particular favourite) is to buy individual items that feature both black and white block colours together. Be careful to go for something too crazy though or you could end up looking more like a walking optical illusion!

Here's my favourite pieces available to buy now:

Flesh for Fantasy

Flesh for Fantasy

With winter upon us long gone are the trends of the summer; the short shorts & the teeny weeny crop top! ...but that doesn't mean to say that we can't still flash a little flesh (as long as it's done tastefully).

With the party season soon to be in full swing here's my guide on how to show a little bit of flesh in the winter season...

One key thing to remember when working this trend is it's all about illusions wearing clothes with mesh panels gives the idea of showing a little bit more without having to risk pneumonia in these almost arctic weather conditions!

On the A/W 2012 catwalk earlier this year it was designers such as  Yves Saint Laurent that worked this 'mesh' winter look so well...

With this revealing trend being so popular anyone can buy into it with the amazing choice on the high street!

Here's my favourite pieces all available to buy on the Great British High Street...

£195
All Saints
(♥♥♥)

£165
All Saints

£150
Topshop

£87
Style Stalker

£75
Evil Twin

£39
Rare

£30
Forever Unique

With all of these great brands available to buy in Manchester you have no excuse not to jump on board and flash a little flesh!

...just remember: less is more!

Green Soles

Green Soles

I know it's been a while since my last post, but once again I've been a very busy bee! With the success of the first Pretty in Punk lookbook we've been busy planning the next one for our second collection...

...I know, I know; it's all so exciting!

Having had a little more spare time recently I thought I'd take part in my favourite past time; online shopping, only to discover this amazing new shoe collection by the very talented Chloe Jade Green!

...I've always been a sucker for an amazing pair of shoes and I was even more ecstatic to discover that this gorgeous collection is now available to buy at Topshop!

They all have such intricate detail whilst remaining the ulitmate statement shoes! ...and don't even get me started on the stunning JADE GREEN SOLES!!! ...they are to die for!

With the amazing choice for shopping in Manchester I'll deffo be heading to Topshop this weekend to pick up my favourite pair (stud venom courts)... see you there?

What Jodie Wore

What Jodie Wore

So, with tonight being the eve of Halloween I thought it would be rather fitting to do a festive What Jodie Wore...

...I mean who doesn't love a bit of fancy dress?

Each year I like to try and change things up and dress up as something different; as zombie, cat and witch were already crossed off the list I decided to go for something a little more original!

A Gothic Doll!

With this costume it was all about the makeup...

I tried to create a slightly larger, creepy doll eye by drawing the whites of the eye much bigger; I then drew on
lashes and lined the eyes underneath to make them pop! ...the finishing touches were then the huge false lashes to create an even more 'fake' effect.

The next crucial detail was definitely the lips! I started by blocking out the natural lip colour with foundation and then drew on the creepy doll lips in TOPSHOP 'Vamp' lipstick!

The rest of the costume is all about detail!

What Jodie Wore

What Jodie Wore

So, after a long and busy week I finally got the chance last Friday night to let my hair down. Having not done so in quite a while I was off to a gig to watch my boyfriend's super talented reggae band Jeramiah Ferrari.

Being just a casual pub gig I decided not to get too dressed up... but just because it's a pub gig it doesn't mean I won't make an effort! Plus the weather has once again decided to brighten up so it was warm enough to flash a little bit of flesh! ...only a little bit though!
